“We feel the difference now. See, now, we are feeling what not having hope feels like,” the first lady told Oprah Winfrey in an interview airing Monday.  [reference article below] Michelle Obama: Hope is dead

For Michelle Obama, hope is dead because her hope was a lie.

For Michelle Obama, hope is dead because she wallows in selfish pity.

For Michelle Obama, hope is dead because God hopes one day Ms. Obama will repent.

You were wearied by all your ways, but you would not say, ‘It is hopeless.’

You found renewal of your strength, and so you did not faint.

“Whom have you so dreaded and feared that you have been false to me, and have neither remembered me nor pondered this in your hearts? Is it not because I have long been silent that you do not fear me?

I will expose your righteousness and your works, and they will not benefit you. When you cry out for help, let your collection of idols save you!

The wind will carry all of them off, a mere breath will blow them away. But the man who makes me his refuge will inherit the land and possess my holy mountain.” (Isaiah 57:10-13)

Lesson: In millions, billions of lives, the harshness of life drives them to give up hope. God allows this, promotes this, that they might surrender to Him by giving up their sinful lives and lies. But alas, there are millions and billions of ways to renew one’s lies of empty and powerless hopes.

There is only one honest hope – all others are the idols of man.

  • Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (1 Peter 1:3)
