The unique and special love at Sound Doctrine Church was so great, that once shattered, I found myself completely empty. I had so much pain and torment in my heart I had to numb it. I had to drink. Like any alcoholic it builds over time. The drinks increase, the dependence grows. Eventually if I didn’t have alcohol in my system I would get the shakes, my brain would be foggy, and I couldn’t think straight. My dependence became so bad I would not leave the house without a bottle of whiskey. All my friends knew I would always have a bottle of Jack or Jameson on me.
