“There’s a lot of sacrifice that goes into dance, like missing birthday parties for rehearsal or spending Friday nights rolling out and icing your tired body, but, my God, it is so worth it.” WSJ, Taylor Massa

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.  (1 Corinthians 9:25)

Many in the world sacrifice for their achievements.

Many in the world sacrifice for their achievements to the exclusion of birthday parties and Friday night fun.

Many in the world sacrifice for their achievements to the exclusion of birthday parties and Friday night fun and the the nonspiritual applaud. However, do such for holiness, for entrance into heaven, for the crown of life and booing ensues – ignore it.

Few will tell you, fewer still can show you, that by following Jesus, not only does He grant times of rest (icing) but the self-discipline, the sacrifice are, to quote Taylor Massa, “my God, it is so worth it.”

Scripture #1

“Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”   ~ Jesus

Scripture #2

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,  (Acts 3:19)

Bonus: Oh, my God, He is so worth it. Worth the repentance, worth the opposition, worth the rest and refreshing He gives at the proper times.
