Instagram : most narcissistic
In the era of social networking, “everyone — whether consciously or unconsciously — is becoming a brand of themselves,”
[reference article below]
Scientist keep studying the human heart but such a corrupt thing is hidden, deceitful and beyond cure. Yes, your heart is above anything else, or anyone you can think of deceitfully corrupt and beyond cure.
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? (Jeremiah 17:9)
Narcissism is just another word for sin and all sins, from destruction in society to impure thoughts can be traced back to a lust for self.
Adam and Eve choose to usurp God’s selfless love in them for self-centered god-like lust. Thus all of Adam and Eve’s children, you and I, love ourselves and only ourselves. There is a reason why the old serpent keeps repeating the lie, love yourself and be all you can god-like be.
Scientist spend a great deal of time focusing in on this phenomenon because we know it is wrong on a fundamental level. Plus, what interests mankind more than anything else? Of course a study of our narcissism within ourselves – naturally. Everything that a person does comes full-circle to benefit themselves – it is a hopeless situation. Well, almost hopeless.
“You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. (Genesis 3:4-6)
It is possible for the self-centeredness of our very person-hood to be destroyed, but the person has to surrender to God’s way of making such possible. Those who do not know God’s power do not believe this is possible. Such sense that their Christianity is a fraud and thus do not want to believe the genuine article. To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good. (Titus 1:15-16)
Fact is, those who are some of the most religious narcissistic view those who have been granted the gift of mercy to be separated from self-centeredness though Jesus as the most selfish. Such is called persecution for righteousness sake.
In short, being born again is suppose to be about gaining a new life that is dead to narcissism. No man can cure his, or her, narcissism as such requires an act of the Living God.
Few really want to be born again and fewer more obey God long enough to grow up into a full fledged selfless saint. But it is possible to be born again and possible still to grow up from a babe in Jesus to an adult child of God.
To those who have found the treasure of being born again the giving up of self to have the person-hood of God’s choosing – well – there are not enough words to express that love of God.
You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ (John 3:7)
A new person, a new self, a new selfless person made in the image of Jesus must be created. Thus one is born again as a brand new person who like any child must grow up to become a healthy adult.
Scientist, for those who need such proof, have demonstrated that mankind’s moral outrage is self-seeking. This is one reason juries, and prosecutors send innocent individuals to prison – however such a list of evidence is a long arm indeed and there is no time for that today.
- “When people publicly rage about perceived injustices that don’t affect them personally, we tend to assume this expression is rooted in altruism—a “disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others.” But new research suggests that professing such third-party concern—what social scientists refer to as “moral outrage”—is often a function of self-interest, wielded to assuage feelings of personal culpability for societal harms or reinforce (to the self and others) one’s own status as a Very Good Person.” – Reason.com
