AAA Projects 50.9 Million

ORLANDO, Fla. (November 16, 2017) – AAA projects 50.9 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more away from home this Thanksgiving, a 3.3 percent increase over last year. The 2017 holiday weekend will see the highest Thanksgiving travel volume since 2005 with 1.6 million more people taking to the nation’s roads, skies, rails and waterways compared with last year. AAA and INRIX, a global transportation analytics company, predict travel times in the most congested cities in the U.S. during the holiday week could be as much as three times longer than the optimal trip. The flood of dissipation continues with a great roar. So great is the flood it is front page news.

Many think me strange for not drowning in their flood, but few sane men jump into a raging overflowing river and call it going for a swim.

  • They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you. (1 Peter 4:3-4)

There is no escape. One day each individual will have to give an account. How many are driving to their own destruction?

See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? (Hebrews 12:25)

AAA Newsroom

Individuals often ask me because they pick up on something different, “So, do you have any plans for Thanksgiving.”

They think my actions and answers are kinda strange, but often acknowledge it is the best of answers. Many often wishing they could do the same. Be warned though others can be quite abusive towards a self-disciplined happy life that involves holiness.

For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do–living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you. (1 Peter 4:3-4)

Lesson:

I have His joy, His purpose and thus His food that few know even exists let alone desire to eat.

While it might be God’s will for me to sit down at a turkey dinner and give thanks, I am not going to trade Jesus and His will for the hustle, tussle, clamor of over-indulgence the world so floods in their dispensations.

But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about. (John 4:32)

I know what you do not know, but since I am nothing special you too can know what is unknowable if you will follow close to Jesus.

Bonus:

Food for their gods.

Restaurants are busy, no doubt the tips will be big,…

Calories and food galore to the average meal being 4,000 calories…

Over indulgement, upset stomachs, record food sales as individuals sit down for snacks and sports…

Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, (Philippians 3:19-20)

Without saying sorry, I will pass the plate with gladness in my heart and a spring in my step.
