Statistical test relates pathogen mutation to infectious disease progression
Nucleic acid sequencing methods, which determine the order of nucleotides in DNA fragments, are rapidly progressing…
…In a paper published earlier this month in the SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, Ryosuke Omori and Jianhong Wu develop an inductive algorithm to study site-specific nucleotide frequencies using a multi-strain susceptible-infective-removed (SIR) model

Ryosuke Omori and Jianhong Wu’s work is nothing to sneeze at.
They clearly are very smart.
Smart as the Queen of Sheba? – that I couldn’t answer.
How smart was the Queen of Sheba?
So smart was she, so wise and so discerning that Ms. Queen Sheba:
- Went to confirm the rumors of Solomon’s wisdom rather than gossiping.
- Queen of Sheba did not turn green with envy because of Solomon’s greatness.
- The Queen clearly appreciated, used and admired the need for wisdom to rule her nation.
The Queen, Queen Sheba, the ruler of her nation was indeed a woman of wisdom that sprang from humility. Good going Queen.
When the queen of Sheba heard of Solomon’s fame, she came to Jerusalem to test him with hard questions.
Arriving with a very great caravan-with camels carrying spices, large quantities of gold, and precious stones-she came to Solomon and talked with him about all she had on her mind. Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was too hard for him to explain to her.
When the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon, as well as the palace he had built, the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes, the cupbearers in their robes and the burnt offerings he made at the temple of the Lord , she was overwhelmed.
She said to the king, “The report I heard in my own country about your achievements and your wisdom is true. But I did not believe what they said until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half the greatness of your wisdom was told me; you have far exceeded the report I heard. How happy your men must be! How happy your officials, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom! (2 Chronicles 9:1-7)
How happy must have been Solomon’s and Queen Sheba’s officials! Unlike King County of Washington State which seeks out and destroys wisdom. King County Washington is quite the contrast.
Again, good going Queen Sheba and by this one act of yours God praises your actions and holds you up for honor.
Let us all honor such a Queen for Jesus sees what all should acknowledge. That Queen of Sheba was one smart-cookie.
Indeed, the Queen of the South, Queen Sheba is going to judge a whole lot of folks come that great legal bar day that is coming. Commonly known as Judgement Day when all injustice, thwarting of justice and legal corruption will be exposed and condemned. Get ready to meet the Queen of the South.
The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, and now one greater than Solomon is here. (Matthew 12:42)
Congratulations Ryosuke Omori and Jianhong Wu on your “Statistical test relates pathogen mutation to infectious disease progression”, but, your work is beyond me. Thanks for the challenge to work through my confusion. Did I say work through …think again.
Are you sure Mr. Omori and Jianhong that the squiggly line next to the hex box, a hex not being a box, of course, is correct?
God is even smarter though. He, God, requires anyone who desires to be saved from the just condemnation of Judgement Day must become a fool.
Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a “fool” so that he may become wise. (1 Corinthians 3:18)
