Jeff Bezos : 42 Million $ Clock
Depending on the day, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is either the richest or second richest human on Earth. And while he’s trying to figure out how to use some of that money philanthropically, he announced today that construction has begun on the giant clock in the middle of nowhere that he put up $42 million to build.
The 10,000 Year Clock is intended as a symbolic reminder that we should consider the long-term impact of our actions.

10,000 years into the future is not nearly long enough a vision to save Amazon’s Jeff Bezos soul. Mr. Bezos should be considering eternity as he will pay a very dear price for his pride and riches.
Indeed, the very actions of building this clock are motivated out of pride.
To be sure, God will judge with the word “obviously”.
Pride, you know, that little attitude of self-glorification that cost the Devil his joyful place in heaven.
“In the year 4000, you’ll go see this clock and you’ll wonder, ‘Why on Earth did they build this,’” Bezos told Wired in 2011. Many people will probably ask that same question in a shorter time frame.
Obviously, $42 million could do a lot of good in the here and now. But it’s hard to argue about the value of a truly magnificent piece of engineering, executed at jaw-dropping scale, for little reason other than to inspire people. – Jeff Bozes
Woe unto Amazon’s Jeff Bezos as the 42 million dollar clock, though a magnificent piece of engineering, executed at jaw-dropping scale is a labor of vanity and in vain.
Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain. (Psalm 127:1)
Poor Jeff Bezos the more riches he acquires the greater his poverty before God.
Amazon’s Jeff Bozes, if he repented, if God were calling Him, if he let the conviction roll over him like a tsunami he would realize that Jesus died for the very wicked – the rich.
He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. (Isaiah 53:9)
