‘The Devil and Father Amorth’ Trailer

“The Exorcist” director William Friedkin terrified the Venice Film Festival last year with his new documentary, “The Devil and Father Amorth,” and now everyone can see why in the official trailer. The non-fiction feature profiles the late Father Gabriele Amortha as he performs his ninth exorcism on an Italian woman. Friedkin was in the room for the exorcism, and it shook him to his core.

The Devil doesn’t mind, isn’t bother and for that matter is excited about such media attention.

Just ask  yourself a simple question, since the movie “The Exorcist” directed William Friedkin “terrified” individuals has demon possession and movies about demons gone up or down?

Jesus always avoided publicity and Paul, a preacher of holiness in Jesus knew there would be hell to pay once Satan was dealt a deadly blow. This is why he wisely avoided casting out the spirit until he could no longer stand the media attention lust of the spirit inside the fortune telling girl.

However, back to the main point – it is just as much of the devil to possess as it is to proclaim – just so long as the attention is on himself.

Fact is the Devil will tell the truth if it keeps the listener trapped in his or her lies.

Note well that it is a demon telling the “truth” : “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved.”  Which is a truthful statement but proclaimed in such a way, by an impure spirit that such truth becomes a deceptive lie.

This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved.” She kept this up for many days.

Finally, Paul became so troubled that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!”

At that moment the spirit left her. When the owners of the slave girl realized that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities. They brought them before the magistrates and said, “These men are Jews, and are throwing our city into an uproar by advocating customs unlawful for us Romans to accept or practice.”

The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten. After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. Upon receiving such orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks. (Acts 16:17-24)

King County Prosecutors, of Seattle, would relish this case as the crowd all in an uproar brought Paul to them for a solid beating. All part of the Dan Satterberg, as he states, “unique” and “humble” style all through history of low-life prosecutors who beat now and ask questions later. Anything and everything to please the voting mob.

A solid beating under the banner of law – naturally.

The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten. (Acts 16:22)

Guess they, King County Prosecutors would have heard Paul was a cult leader and beat him up accordingly.

Bonus Wisdom:

If you desire to be free from the influence of the Devil then get your eyes and ears off him and onto Jesus.

Resolve to know Jesus, only Jesus and you will be set free.

For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. (1 Corinthians 2:2)
