Deluded drivers: The startling discovery that changed psychology
A 1960s survey of drivers hospitalised after accidents found that they still rated their skills as exceptional – and we all have similar blind spots

Be it religious matters, governmental opinions or driving skills – we all – by nature – think everything we do is correct. That in spite of the evidence, the car crashed in the living room, that our driving skills are up-to-par is a ready lie in our hearts.
If the Nazi’s were able to legally, and legally they did justify in their minds the gassing of Jews does it really shock anyone that King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg of Seattle Washington thinks himself full of exalted opinions in spite of the evidence of mass societal destruction? Naw, every criminal has his or her self-deluding lies shouting in their heads.
All of us, which includes not only myself think we are fully justified or right at every level. The only reason I am correct on any point is because I have first been proven wrong while continuing to be proven wrong hourly. If all a man’s way seem right to him, then someone outside that man has to come along and deal with such delusions in a powerful way.
All a man’s ways seem right to him, …. (Proverbs 21:2)
What then is the solution?
The answer is in embracing and learning to fall in love with a God that opposes, tests and examines every thought and deed.
You see I have something King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg does not have. I have the Living God who opposes every thought, every action and every opinion to such a level that I am proven by Him to be wrong from every angle. My humility, unlike King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg’s self-proclaimed humility is no lie. God does not leave me to my seeming right humility, He comes along with the power to destroy, ridicule and make foolish my humility. God weighs the heart of every matter, opinion, and action that I take.
All a man’s ways seem right to him, but the Lord weighs the heart. (Proverbs 21:2)
Such is the glorious power of God to those who pick up their cross and follow after Jesus. However, you can be sure, none of this makes any sense to those perishing in their pride.
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18)
Until a man or woman seeks after the Living God, on His terms, car crashes and prosecutor destruction will continue to kill the honest, maim justice and destroy the children, the parents, and the bystander sitting in their living room.
