Aw, sweet boredom.
Sweet suffering boredom, it does reveal sins character hiding, lurking in the darkness for which men and self is unaware. This boredom disciplines out, uproots the seeds of sinfulness that they might not ever take root.
Aw, sweet boredom indeed!
Melissa Bergman is correct, she has a reason for the crime spree.
Boredom is often an open sore for many that lead them into sinning. This is why for those who closely follow at the heels of Jesus are led into time periods of boredom. The disciple of Jesus trained by boredom will reap a harvest of righteousness if they conquer and overcome the sins that are revealed. Melissa Bergman turned to a crime but the righteous man turns to holiness.
Most who claim to be Christian most notably the Culture Christian become bored with the requirements of tedious obedience to Jesus and resort to whatever sin they find comfortable.

…are all one of many styles of sinning to escape boredom.
If a Christian boredom made all the worse by the sufferings that are a part of praying to the true God. But, sin must be dealt a death blow if one expects to be apart of the family of God that is all holy love for one another in heaven.
For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit, and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.
You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.
The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia–your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us.
They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead–Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath. (1 Thessalonians 1:4-10)
[ Bonus Wisdom ]
When God delivered the Israelite’s out of Egypt, from their life of slavery to sin, they soon grew bored and created a party in the name of God. It was boredom that gave rise to impurity rather and quiet holiness that waits for God.
It is no easy thing to wait on the Lord but blessed are those who conquer and overcome.
Woe unto those who in the name of the Lord are in reality idolaters of self-pleasing.
So all the people took off their earrings and brought them to Aaron. He took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf, fashioning it with a tool.
Then they said, “These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.” When Aaron saw this, he built an altar in front of the calf and announced, “Tomorrow there will be a festival to the Lord .”
So the next day the people rose early and sacrificed burnt offerings and presented fellowship offerings.
Afterward they sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry. (Exodus 32:3-6)
[ Warning ]
Consider the power of boredom. Amoral Prison Wardens and Prosecutors abuse solitary confinement to break a man’s spirit and body. Just hours in solitary confinement is too much for many an individual. Not to fear these amoral Prison Wardens and Prosecutors will be punished for Eternity by the Living God in a like manner come Judgement Day.
What men abuse for the lust of power God uses in a loving way to bless an individual with holiness.
If you desire the peace of God prepare yourself from time to time for the hard training of boredom. Be fully aware that when God seeks to make one holy through boredom it is no comfortable discussion.
That said if you submit to a loving God, through the cross be painful and rough at times it always leads to a resurrected life.
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful.
Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. (Hebrews 12:11)
