2 Men, 29 Wives, 160 Children
Two leaders of a fundamentalist group who between them have 29 wives and 160 children were sentenced to house arrest on Tuesday after being convicted of polygamy. Winston Blackmore, 61, was found guilty last year of having 24 wives while James Oler, 53, was found guilty of having five wives. Blackmore has 149 kids, the Star Vancouver reported. Blackmore’s six-month conditional sentence, to be served under house arrest, allows him to go to work and deal with medical emergencies. Oler’s term is three months of house arrest. Both face 12 months of probation. Blackmore was also ordered to perform 150 hours of community service work, while Oler must do 75 hours.

Not sure what is the most absurd point in this story.
The 29 wives?
The 160 children?
The Law which gave community service as punishment? Let us hope, even pray that he doesn’t meet any more women while doing community service.
However, I do know what the point is, the solid, the reliable, the selfless love point is: namely, 1 wife and 1 husband.
After all God in the beginning only offered Adam, Eve.
However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. (Ephesians 5:33)
[ Warning ]
Solemn a very smart man was dumb when it came to the matter of many wives. Even the Mormon faith has renounced the whole multiple wives at the same time kinda thing.
The king, moreover, must not acquire great numbers of horses for himself or make the people return to Egypt to get more of them, for the Lord has told you, “You are not to go back that way again.”
He must not take many wives, or his heart will be led astray. He must not accumulate large amounts of silver and gold. When he takes the throne of his kingdom, he is to write for himself on a scroll a copy of this law, taken from that of the priests, who are Levites. (Deuteronomy 17:16-18)
King Solomon, however, loved many foreign women besides Pharaoh’s daughter-Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians and Hittites. They were from nations about which the Lord had told the Israelites, “You must not intermarry with them, because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods.”
Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love. He had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines, and his wives led him astray. As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been. (1 Kings 11:1-4)
