Cow Escapes Gives Birth

Cow Escapes Gives Birth

“A pregnant cow who escaped a cattle truck en route to a New Jersey slaughterhouse gave birth to a female calf at the sanctuary that rescued her on Saturday.

Brianna’s calf, named Winter, was born days after her mother fell 8 feet from the second level of a cattle truck on Interstate 80, the New Jersey Herald reported.”

Why is a cow giving birth to her calf after escaping the slaughterhouse truck-run newsworthy?

Something about this story touches a spiritual nerve.

Why?

The answer is because God, the Living God through His Son Jesus, placed within mankind a sensitivity towards kindness to all that was created.

Sin has darkened that kindness so that the Chinese boil dogs alive and American women slaughter their unborn children in the womb to the tune of 1 million in 2018.

God in a desperate attempt to awaken a good conscience in mankind laid down the law when commanding that you shall not boil a kid in its mother’s milk.

Right, smack dab in the middle of instructions about joyful worship that gives the best to God a commandment that you shall not boil a kid in its mother’s milk is inserted.

Let your heart pay attention because once specific lines are crossed all manner of unkindness is possible.

The best of the first fruits of your ground you shall bring to the house of the LORD your God. You shall not boil a kid in its mother’s milk. (Exodus 34:26)

“Just a few short days after her daring run down Route 80, recently rescued Brianna the cow gave birth to a female calf Saturday afternoon.

Brianna fell 8 feet out of the second level of a truck headed to a Paterson slaughterhouse around 2:45 a.m. on Thursday night. She wandered around the highway until Skylands Animal Sanctuary and Rescue came to corral her.

The slaughterhouse decided to let Skylands keep her, so she will join another 70 cows in the sanctuary.

Mike Stura, the founder of the sanctuary, was worried about how Brianna’s fall would affect her pregnancy. But her newly born female calf, christened Winter, is perfectly healthy, and Brianna is a “natural” at motherhood, Stura said.

“The calf is beautiful,” Stura said. “And she’ll never be without her mother”
